Writings

2-8-13
Everyone always becomes enchanted by your character. Throughout your life people continued baffle you when they gave their undying trust and admiration. Your kindness and positive attitude would reflect out to the world creating an aura of bliss surrounding you that everyone wanted to be a part of. Likewise, you were strong and independent. No one stood a chance against your sharp wit. Or most people would be too caught up in your adorable tendencies to ever fight you.

After all this time, all this people, you remain blind to your own inner beauty that everyone so deeply loved. Never did you suspect that people would flock to you or avoid you out of sheer intimation. No. Never. In your eyes you were the girl who was average. very bland and, oh-so usual. You just assumed all of those flocking people were just so very nice. Most of them seemed to be only there to host a pity party in your honor. Maybe that's why they all followed you: Because you were a commodity. Someone just the same as all the rest.

1-29-13
I was thinking about this life. Throughout this reality I have always wanted to progress past my current state and become something truly enchanting. I dress the way I do as a way to live out my childish fantasies. My greatest desire was to transform the world into a fairytale. By using combinations of different clothing I could become any creature, princess, hero, fairy, I have ever dreamed about. But at the end of the day, my clothing comes off, my hair becomes entangled in clips, and I crawl into bed to restart another day in which I will build up an outfit that leaves me with butterflies and the slightest blush.

However, some nights sleep does not come quickly and I lay awake spiraling within my mind contemplating this reality and what my future will provide. I begin to feel a chill within my very core; a silent panic washes over me as I feel the emptiness in my heart as it all becomes too apparent. What I have come to realize in the end is that all this magic I feel originates from woven thread; cleverly woven thread. Why can't I grow my wings and fly? Why does my adventure not begin? Why must we work to survive in a world where survival comes easily?
I just want to fly away.

Personal Updates

Lately I have been aloof, busy, and focusing on school while leaving my social life in the shadows.  I believe I am still adjusting to the melancholy swing of things.  Still, I feel the need to balance out school and blogging so that I do not fall into a pit of self pity and diva style drama.  I want to craft, sing, play guitar, clean, dance, rave, and some many other pointless teenage antics.  But school keeps me from my friends and foes.

(It was the fall tour)

When the news of Emilie Autumn's North American tour dropped, October 2nd became my new deadline for an elaborate costume I have never thought of before.  A burlesque diva with a Rococo flare.  A new idea, one of which I would have never thought of without the Inspiration graced by Dita Von Teese.  A new idea requires new items pieces to complete the look and theme.  Nothing from my wardrobe could accommodate this idea without looking like the same old tired look (my personal style) we have become use to.   Likewise I feel like nothing I own would do this idea any justice.

(So motherfuckin' original.)

I soon realized I needed cash after checking my income and going over some ideas.  I needed everything to be ready in two weeks.  Last weeks paycheck had come and went.  SO.  After reviewing what I need I began busting my hump for extra income.  This meant along with school, part time work, and boyfriend, I had to pile part time work with my mom. Needless to say I have been busy.
(nope.)

BUT, Emilie Autumn announced a delay in her tour due to an illness.  This came as a shock but turned out to be a blessing in disguise.  Now my deadline is pushed further back to January. This news came after I sold items from my wardrobe and had, metaphorically, worked my plush-rump off.

(okay life I see what you're trying to do to me)

This will I will finish up my work, school will be taken care of, and I will go back to gracing everyone's dashboard with my prescience.  I will continue to build my costume and create something completely different.  Whenever a new event takes place I decide to out do myself every time.  I always want to make myself from months ago look like a total weaboo loser.  It is a challenge to recreate a new concept of myself every time but I gladly accept the task.

(look at this goddamn ita weaboo thinking she's all cool and shit)

Here's what you have miss these past weeks:

I'm starting a decorated bra collection and this is the second addition.

I'm going to beat this game.
(fuck yis 90's-00's PC games)

(did you know even I'm half Hungarian?)

Currently awaiting photos from a photoshoot.  This is the only preview I have to offer.

Crafting for Anime Convetions

As some of you might not know I will be selling a Animazement this year! Like last year I will be selling candles and my own jewelry. Looking back to last year I can remember how terrified I felt to be selling to an entire convention, not only that but my school ends the same weekend as AZ. Needless to say it is stressful for a 15 year old girl to take on such task. But After all I have learned from AZ and all the practice from over this past year I can share some tips that could help:

Don't procrastinate.

We all know the trouble you could encounter if you wait until the last minute. Sloppy work is one of many issues. Most crafts and pieces take time and focus. If you are watching the clock the night before speeding around and finishing everything, this is not a good sign. Take time with your work and stay calm. Get a good night sleep the night before the convention and have a big breakfast early in the morning. It is very important to have a good breakfast before a long days work. (most times you will be work 12 hours and you won't be able to get lunch!!)

Practice your display.

At Animazement I sat next to Ryan from MoogleGurl, her display was tall and well planed. She had a banner with her shop name and all of her items were on a vertical display. However, I had no idea what my display would look like until I was setting up. Your display will be what draws customers in. A display should show off all of the products and help a customer see everything you have to offer. When people are walking around a convention they might not have a lot of time to stop and look at everything so your display has to be clean and organised so people can clearly see your items. It's a good idea to set up a practice display at home a few weeks before the event to get a feel for the display.

Keep logs, make goals, and have a plan.

Next, it helps to keep receipt books to keep tract of the items you sell and to help you figure out what to make the next year. Try to make small goals to help you stay focused and stress free. For an example, "I will make 50 cupcake but the end of this week," this is not a good idea because it make you feel like you have to make 50 cupcakes now which can throw you off if you are working on other projects. Instead plan on making 10 cupcakes a day alongside with the other crafts. Lastly, plan on what to make and try to figure out what would sell best. This could take some research but it really helps. You can look around your gallery at what has more comment and favorites, you can also look around for themes and get inspired from other artists around the net to get an idea of what hot and selling now.

Stay focused.

Try to not get overwhelmed and stressed over the upcoming event. It takes a lot of work to run a booth but it's better to not think about how you have to do or what little time you have left to work. You can get more items made if you take your time and just focus.
